I recently helped a friend with cancer apply for a cannabis license.
He had to scan in several medical documents and send them via a form on the www.gov.il site as PDF files. It turns out that the form has a limit of 2048 kb per file -- and each scanned page created a much larger file!
Note: www.gov.il is the official Israeli government site for government information and services and is available in English.
I had to "party" with PDF: the solution I found -- SmallPDF. This site compressed my PDF files 90% without losing any legibility.
Since the site limits its free services to two pages an hour, I opened up the same site in a different browser and compressed another two pages. I then used the free PDFill Tools program (see my Party with PDF tip) to merge the different pages into one PDF document. Success !!! And my friend received his license for medical cannabis.
PS - Does everyone in need of a cannabis license need a computer geek to process his/her forms? What a system!

The sites above are in Hebrew. If this is a problem, for Chrome: right-click on a blank area on the web page and then choose Translate. For Firefox, I suggest using the Simple Translate add-on.
