Resource Development and Fundraising Assistant

The IDF Widows and Orphans Organization is a non-profit organization recognized by the State of Israel to represent the widows and orphans of Israel’s fallen soldiers.

We are looking for a full time Resource Development and Fundraising Assistant to begin on July 2019.  The Assistant is responsible of aspects involving fundraising and international communications in the organization. The IDF Widows and Orphans Organization is located at 1 Oranim St., Givat Shmuel 54042, in front of Bar Ilan University. The job requires someone with a strong sense of drive and vision, who has the organizational skills and follow through to see their goals come to fruition. 

Job Description: 

1. Process donations and prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence.
2. Researching foundations, major donors and other financial resources.
3. Setting up parlor meetings and creating strong relationships with new donors from abroad.
4. Researching grant opportunities. 
5. Contact with regular and potential donors, predominantly from abroad.
6. Continually update database records.
7. English website maintenance
8. Prepare media materials for distribution.
9. Marketing and advertising our activities and stories.
10. English editing. 
11. Participating in all fundraising activities including donor and public relations, direct mail appeals, and special events.
12. Handle all administrative details associated with the Resource Development meetings (i.e. minutes, etc.). 

Skills and Experience: 

1. A native English-speaker with the ability to express oneself in Hebrew and translate back and forth between Hebrew and English. 
2. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
3. Excellent interpersonal skills.
4. Strong computer skills. 
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and CRM systems.
6. Ability to organize and prioritize work.
7. Ability to take direction and work in a team and independently.
8. Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations or related field, a plus.
9. Experience in resource development a plus. (Ability to identify new sources of funding, market and develop and maintain donor relations)
10. Experience in an administrative position a plus.
11. Hardworking, detail-oriented, creative and passionate, a go-getter.
