The Jerusalem Municipality has recently upgraded and renovated the famous Gan HaTut (Strawberry Garden) in the Nahlaot neighborhood and the Ohel Moshe Garden, with an investment of approximately NIS 2.5 million, among which the flooring and lighting infrastructures were upgraded to the old gardens and trees, new garden furniture was installed, The renovation was carried out at the initiative of the Central Quarter and the Municipal Improvement Division in the municipality and in cooperation with the Community Administration and the residents, according to a plan by the Jerusalem architect Avner Simon.

Gan HaTut and the Ohel Moshe Garden are old gardens located in the heart of the Nahlaot neighborhood, established by Jews who went outside the Old City walls of Jerusalem in the 1880's and are the city's favorite treasures. The city's veterans know the Ohel Moshe neighborhood - the Sephardic neighborhood where famous personalities, including the fifth president of the State of Israel, Yitzhak Navon, who called it "the Spanish orchard."

Mayor Moshe Leon noted that "the Spanish Orchard is one of the unique gardens in Jerusalem that reflects the historical character of the Nahlaot neighborhood and on which President Yitzhak Navon wrote the famous play," I thank the professional staff who made great efforts despite the difficulties in carrying out this complex and special project.
